Anthropic Uses Claude to Resolve 3D Structure of Prokaryotic Vault Particles

Anthropic's biology research lab announced that it used Claude to help resolve the 3D cryo-EM structure of vault particles from a prokaryotic bacteriophage, submitting its findings in a preprint paper. During the study, the team combined multi-agent orchestration with Claude to handle protein database searches, DNA construct design, particle purification protocol optimization, and RELION data processing—slashing the purification and modeling timelines, which traditionally take days, to 90 minutes and 34 hours, respectively.
