Claude Code Product Lead Cat Wu Announces Departure from Anthropic

Cat Wu, Product Lead for Claude Code, has announced her departure from Anthropic, which the company has officially confirmed. Since joining in the summer of 2024, Wu co-led the development and rollout of Claude Code alongside its original creator, Boris Cherny, and oversaw Cowork, a tool designed for non-technical tasks. Thariq Shihipar, who also contributed to the tool's development, left last month as well. Wu did not disclose the specific reasons for her departure.
