AWS has announced the general availability of the Web Answer tool for Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, enabling AI agents to retrieve factual web answers with source citations via a single MCP tool call. Featuring built-in autonomous multi-turn retrieval, parallel verification, and structured attribution, the tool keeps query data strictly within Amazon's first-party web index and the AWS boundary without calling external search engines. It is currently available in the us-east-1 region and priced at $10 per 1,000 calls.
By consolidating complex search, scraping, cleaning, and provenance tracking workflows into a single managed call, the tool eliminates the engineering overhead of building and maintaining custom retrieval and attribution pipelines.
